Labor Law
Frequently Asked Questions

Labor law posters display employment notices that are required by state and federal agencies. Failure to post required notices could result in penalties.

Each agency has it’s own requirements about who needs to display their notice. Some postings require at least one employee, and some require their notice to be displayed if an employer has more than 5.

For this reason, it is recommended that any employer with at least one employee clearly display state and federal employment notices.

Note: Not all postings must be posted by all employer.

State and Federal notices should be clearly displayed where they are easily visible to all employees such as an employee break room.

State and federal agencies often update and change policies and the notices that display them. To see a current list of changes, visit our most recent changes page.

  • The general intent of labor law posting requirements is to communicate to employees various rights and information. Legally, whether to post in Spanish or not varies depending upon different state and federal agencies. If you have employees whose primary language is Spanish, it is in your best interest to post both English and Spanish posters.

Employers are required to always display the most up-to-date notices. We have 3 ways stay in compliance.

1. All labor law order customers will automatically receive email notifications when a state or federal notice has a major change. When you receive the email, click the link and purchase a new poster. This service is free.
2. Purchase our Poster Protection Plan Option 2. When a state or federal agency releases a major change, we will email you a PDF that you can print and place over the original.
3. Purchase our Poster Protection Plan Option 3. When a state or federal agency releases a major change to their notice, we will ship you an entirely new poster. Simply throw away the original and replace with the new poster.

We guarantee any labor law poster is compliant with current state and federal employment notices at the time of purchase.

When we detect a labor law update, we determine if it is a required change. Once that is determined, we place the posters on hold and stop shipping until we have completed the change.

If you would like to check a current poster for compliance, visit our most recent changes page.

You may want to have a more personal touch. We allow you to replace our logo with your own, change the background color to match your branding, and even display information relevant to your business.

Customizing is a perfect option to promote consistency and familiarity to all employees.
