The recent outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus has caused much concern for everyone worldwide. The new respiratory infection has quickly spread from the first outbreak in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China to a reported 13 countries. The number of suspected cases reported (no confirmed case) is currently at 41 as of January 31st. For this reason, the World Health Organization has declared the outbreak as a global public health emergency.
Not much is known about the virus, but the Centers for Disease Control and other health and safety agencies are working around the clock to discover how the disease is spread, ways that it presents itself, and other features associated with the outbreak. The ultimate goal is to control the spread of the virus and prevent further infections.
In light of this OSHA has released an online resource on the coronavirus outbreak with links to the CDC and Prevention guidance, quick facts about the outbreak, and information on preventing exposures.
